Teachers to converge in Delhi to discuss classroom teaching

In the backdrop of several reforms initiated in classroom teaching, teachers from across the country will converge here to discuss and debate personal and professional challenges in classrooms.
 
The conference, which will be the first of its kind, will be held on November 13 in association with NCERT, CBSE, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti and Kendriya Vidyalaya Samiti.
 
Several academic researchers and administrators will also join the discussion forum with the teachers to resolve issues concerning the teaching fraternity, sources said.
 
Themes which would figure in the conference would range from curriculum and content – text books and beyond to innovative pedagogy – practices and outcomes -- and the Way Forward.
 
Sessions would also be devoted to issues like purpose and practice of teaching and personal and professional Development in regards to aspirations and challenges.
 
Teachers from across the country are invited to participate in the conference, sources said, adding, those willing to present papers based on their own classroom experiences or based on their research are also welcome to register as presenters.
 
Some of the discussions will also revolve around issues like teacher and pupil and the changing times, dynamic relationships and the impact on learning.
 
Besides, there would be discussions on teacher education, pre-Service and in-Service professional development and the need and opportunities, sources said.
 
Issues like use of information and communication technology as a tool of learning and challenges associated with it and challenges and possibility would also be discussed at the conference.
