VSAT-enabled training programme for primary teachers launched

Updated on: Saturday, October 23, 2010

A programme aimed at providing primary school teachers with conceptual clarity in key areas of teaching was today kicked off in nine cities across the country with the help of VSAT technology.

The programme was simultaneously launched in the cities of Noida, Delhi, Patna, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bhopal and Jaipur.

It will be delivered by a team of teacher-trainers who through their interactions with teachers over many years have designed the transformational training programme, said a release issued by Macmillan Publishers, which has co-designed the module.

As per the training schedule, experts from studios in Chennai will impart training to teachers through an interactive two-way VSAT technology, the release said.

With this exercise, thousands of primary school teachers will simultaneously receive training without diluting the contents and key learning objectives, it said.

The key feature of the programme is its child-centric approach wherein the innate potential of the child is recognised and a methodology evolved to further strengthen and build on it, the release said.
