Haryana govt issues guidelines for opening law college

Haryana government has issued guidelines for setting up a new law college or Centre of Legal Education under self financing scheme-2010.

The applicant could be a non-profit organization like a Public Trust or Society registered under Union or State Law or a company registered under section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956, an official spokesman said here today.

Applications of only those Societies or Trusts that are already successfully running quality educational institutions would be considered for permission to open law college on self financing basis.

He said the applicant Trust or Society should have experience of at least five years of running an institute of higher learning with a certificate of accreditation and substantial proof of academic credentials.

Applications of those Trust or Societies that have no experience of running institutes of higher learning would not be entertained.

He said a minimum of five acres of land would be required for opening of law college.
