Prizes distributed to 38 students

Thirty eight students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Christian-convert SCs on Wednesday received the State government's prizes for their performance in the public examinations for 10th and 12th standard.

Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi handed over certificates of commendation and prize money to the students in the presence of the Minister for Adi Dravidar Welfare A. Tamilarasi and Principal Secretary (Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare) Vishwanath A. Shegaonkar.

In the case of 10th standard examinations, 18 students secured the first three slots and in respect of 12th standard examinations, 20 students bagged the slots.

The total prize money distributed was Rs.10.10 lakh, according to an official release.
