Now computer education compulsory in Haryana colleges

The Haryana government has made computer literacy compulsory in all its colleges from this year, a minister said on Sunday.

Minister of State for Agriculture and Cooperatives Sukhbir Singh Kataria said in a statement that modern computer labs are being set up in every government college in the state.

A government spokesman said that as per the decision, students of B.A., B.Com, M.Com and BBA will also have to acquire knowledge of computers for attaining a degree.

Haryana has over 650 colleges and eight universities, including an all-women university near Sonepat, 175 km from here.
