Study on to increase seats in Madurai medical college

A two-member team today visited the Madurai Medical College to study the possibility of increasing the number of Post Graduate and Super Speciality seats as well as introducing new courses in the college.
 
The team comprising Dr.Krishnamurthy and Dr.Narayanaswamy from Madras Medical College and Stanley Medical College respectively discussed the methodology (for new course) and training the professors to handle the new courses, officials said.
 
The study was part of the state government's initiative to increase the number of seats in the Medical colleges through out the state.
 
According to officials, the number of MD/MS seats had been increased by 172 and DM seats by 97 from this year.
