Meet on Advanced Computing Technologies held

The Department of Computer Science of Avinashilingam University for Women organised a conference on Advanced Computing Technologies.

Experts from various institutions delivered keynote addresses. Saroja Prabhakaran, Vice-Chancellor of the university, released the conference proceedings and addressed the gathering.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology, organised a national level technical symposium.

V. Duraisamy, Principal, inaugurated the programme. H.M. Vishwanath, Associate of Cognizant Technology Solutions, released the souvenir.

Around 200 students from different colleges gathered and exhibited their talents.

Kumaraguru College of Technology hosted a team of five delegates from South Africa.

The team led by Dennis Gowdy arrived here under a student exchange programme, courtesy Rotary District 9350.

It visited various places in Tamil Nadu and Kerala and was in Coimbatore as part of its study of culture and rich heritage of India.

The team members had extensive interaction with students of the college.

Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science hosted an inter-collegiate meet.

The objective was to impart knowledge to students, bring out talents and hone their skills.

The programme provided an opportunity for students to interact with education consultants, career and placement counsellors among others.

The CSI Computer Chapter and Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology conducted a seminar on “Recent Trends in Software Testing”.

There were five sessions presented by experts from different software areas.

More than 250 delegates from corporates, faculty members, and students attended.

The School of Civil Engineering of Karunya University organised a conference on “Environmental Pollution” focussing on water, air, and land pollution.

P.S. Harikumar, Scientist, CWRDM, Kozhikode, highlighted the effects of environmental pollution and spoke about water quality management strategies.

The annual day of Sri G.V.G. Visalakshi College for Women, Udumalpet, was held recently. Kavidasan, Director, Roots Industries India Limited, was the chief guest. He spoke to the students on the importance of dedication and devotion to duty.

The annual report was presented by J. Manjula, Principal of the college.

An international conclave on “Marketing Strategies for Emerging Economies” was held at PSG College of Arts and Science.

It was held in collaboration with Coimbatore Zone of the CII.

Experts from various fields addressed the students and other delegates. Nearly 650 delegates from corporate, alumni, academicians, scholars, and students, participated.

A workshop on Open Source Software was held at Avinashilingam University for Women. G. Padmavathi, Head, Department of Computer Science, inaugurated the workshop.

Another workshop on “Introduction to FOSS Tool” was also held.

A lecture on “Open Source Software Revolution in IT” was delivered by K. Sundaram, Director, KGiSL.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham organised a conference on “Recent Trends in Communication, Computation, and Signal Processing”.

Keynote addresses were delivered by experts from the field of Information Technology.

Over 300 participants from industry, academia, and students participated in the conference.
