The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of the Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) is organising a national conference on ‘Emerging Trends in RF and Signal Processing' from March 25 to 27.

The conference, being organised in association with the IEEE and ISTE, will focus on new advances and research results in theoretical, experimental and applied concepts in communication and signal processing, according to its organisers.

RF and microwave systems play a key role in today's communication scene and include systems such as terrestrial and satellite mobile radio, cellular mobile telephone, Wimax, wireless broadband, WLAN, satellite communication, radar and so on.

The conference will be inaugurated by S. Ramaratnam, Deputy Director, VSSC, on March 25. Dr. E. Gopinathan of NIT Calicut will deliver the keynote address. P.V. Mathew, Chairman, FISAT, will preside. Participants from six States representing 11 universities and 44 colleges will take part in the conference.
