E-plus Club schedule

Theme: - It's not possible to forget the fairy tales and fables we grew up with. A major part of our childhood was spent with kings, queens, demons and tales of great virtue. Let's look back at those days which made book lovers out of many of us. Let's also discuss the stories the new generation is talking about while we are at it.

Note: The activity “The Old and the New” scheduled for day 4 needs preparation. Get started right away!

Day 1: Enchanted Lands: - What was your favourite fairy tale/story in your childhood? Do you still remember it? Tell us if you do and let's revisit those days.

Day 2: Treasures of Childhood: - Think about some books/magazines which were your favourites when you were young. Are they still published? Do you still subscribe to them? Speak for a while about them and what about them appealed to you so much.

Day 3: Debate: - Children should be made aware of reality and should not be fed fairy tales.

Day 4: The Old and the New: - What are the major differences between books that children read nowadays and the books you read while growing up? Do some research and compare the contemporary stories, magazines and children's books to those which were your favourites.

Day 5: The Fantasy World: - Like books and stories, we grew up on our choice of television programmes as well. Which TV shows did you watch regularly as kids? What were they about? How are they different from the TV shows for children these days?

Day 6: Debate: - Western literature and characters like Superman and Batman appeal more to children than Indian literature and characters.
