Join the fun at Felicity 2k10

Felicity 2k10 - the annual cultural and technical fest of the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad being organised from February 19 to 21 will be a felicitous mix of technical, literary, sports and cultural events attracting thousands of students across the country.

The biggest attraction will be ‘Threads' which comprises programming and mathematics contests. Popular events include Codecraft, Kode Konundrums , Mathematika, Cache In, Time Limit Exceeded and Equity Pulse. The programming events see participation from top ranked coders of online programming forums like TopCoder and Spoj. Codecraft is a contest that tests the coding capabilities of programmers through seemingly simple yet innately tricky problems. Mathematika is a contest for Math lovers, which challenges them with brainstorming problems of Mathematics and computation. Kode Konundrums is a fusion of cleverly crafted puzzles and computer programming.

Equity Pulse is an online real-time simulation of a stock market. It is aimed at giving viewers and investors an easy and interactive platform to understand and get a feel of investments in stock markets. Break In If You can is a new event which has been introduced this year. It is an online hacking contest. The online test runs for these events will begin by the 2nd week of January.

For the lovers of computer gaming, there is Zombie Zone and the business minded can quench their thirst by participating in BizWit. Felitube is an event which requires the participants to make creative videos from ordinary videos given to them, using their imagination. A new event called Fast and the Curious has been introduced which challenges participants to pick up a new computing skill as fast as possible, in a restricted environment. The spirit of Felicity would remain incomplete without the cultural and Kalakshetra events.

There will be are Antakshari contests in both Hindi and Telugu. An advertising event called Can You Sell? is being introduced for the first time. Euphonica seeks to test the expertise of participants in playing musical instruments and Street play is a skit contest. Kalakshetra events are for the art lovers.

There will be T-Shirt and wall painting contests called T-Sketch and Graffiti respectively. These will go along with Literary Café - an assortment of literary events of varied tastes which is sure to excite the palate of a literatus. To add a regional flavour to the Literary Café, an event in Telugu called Ashtavadhanam is being introduced this year. An innovative extempore pits two teammates against one another, one having to speak for the assigned topic and the other against, while both try their best to convince the judges to gain maximum points for the team.
