Loadshedding:Students to be spared from hardship

Bangalore:  Karnataka government will ensure that students are not put to hardship from power cuts during the coming exam season, Minister for Energy K S Eswarappa told the state assembly today.

"I will discuss the issue with the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and see that students are spared from load shedding during exams to enable to them to study", he said replying to a query from R Roshan Baig (Cong).

Higher Education Minister Aravind Limbavali told Manappa Vajjal (BJP) that government was of the view that there was no need for opening more engineering colleges in the state as existing colleges face problem of unfilled seats.

During this year 11,716 seats remained vacant in government as well as private colleges
