Exam dates for the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) 2016 announced by by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa

goacetThe exam dates for the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) 2016 have been released by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa. GCET is a common entrance state level entrance test conducted to provide admission to the first year professional degree courses in Medical, Dental, Engineering, Pharmacy, Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Allied Health Sciences and Nursing fields in the state.

The exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 10 and 11.

Eligibility criteria for GCET

Educational qualification for GCET:

Those interested in applying for this exam should have passed Class 12 or equivalent having English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology/Biotechnology as the subjects. He/she must belong to Goa state, having valid domicile of Goa.

Exam pattern for GCET

The exam is a paper-pen based test. There will be four papers- Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Physics and Chemistry will be held on May 10, while Biology and Mathematics will be held on May 11. The duration of each paper will be of two hours.

For every correct answer, one mark will be awarded. There will be no negative marking for wrong or multiple answers. The question paper will be of objective type. Each subject consists of 75 marks.

How to apply for GCET

Interested, eligible candidates are required to download the application form (Form A and/or Form B/B1) from the official website. The form has to be filled and submitted at the following locations:

Ravindra Bhavan, Margao (For South Goa District GCET Exam Centres, including Ponda).
Directorate of Technical Education, Porvorim (For North Goa District GCET Exam Centres).
Important dates

The last date for submission of application form for April 2.

The last date for receiving of the application at D.T.E. and collecting admit cards (with late fees) is April 29.
