National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) has launched 47 NPTEL Online Certification Courses

nptelNational Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), an initiative of the 7 IITs and IISc has launched 47 NPTEL Online Certification Courses.

Commencing on Jan 18th 2016, these courses are free and is now open at https://onlinecourses.nptel.ac.in.

Courses across various disciplines are available and there are 3 types of course formats- 10-hr, 20-hr and 40-hr courses.

These courses are open for anyone who is interested in learning and there are no eligibility criteria.

Learning is via the internet and users can login from the comfort of their college, office, home etc and follow the weekly lessons and submit assignments, all online.

There is an optional certificate exam at the end of the course for a fee. Candidates who are interested can take up the exam and get certificate from the IITs!

Till date NPTEL has awarded 13000+ certificates to students who have participated in the previous 7 course-runs.

More than 4 lakh students are enrolled in above portal and are taking advantage of this great learning opportunity provided by NPTEL.

Among the 10 hour and 20 hour courses, some are Introduction to Research; Technical English for Engineers; Information Security; Programming , Data structures and Algorithms; Design and Analysis of Algorithms; Haskel Programming; Microwave integrated Circuits; Fundamental of Electronic materials and devices; Project Planning and Control; Language and Mind; and Marketing.

Some of the 40 hour programmes are Vibration of structures; Fundamentals of Gas dynamics; Basics of finite element analysis; Stability and control of Aircraft; Geology and Soil Mechanics; and Introduction to Machine Learning.
