CBSE announced an 'Expression Series' programme on Swami Vivekananda scheduled for January 11 and January 12

vivekaThe Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced an 'Expression Series' programme on Swami Vivekananda scheduled for January 11 and January 12. Taking forward the series programme, the board has decided to give tribute to "this great scholar and philosopher". Through this programme, a student can submit an essay, poem or drawing on any of the topics provided.

"Swami Vivekananda (12 January 1863 - 4 July 1902) was one of the greatest sons of India who motivated his countrymen through his thoughts on education, dedication, life-goal and knowledge. As a tribute to this great scholar and philosopher, the Central Board of Secondary Education proposes Expression Series on Swami Vivekananda," a circular issued by D T Sudharsan Rao, CBSE joint secretary and in-charge (academic and training) said.

The competition, which is only for students of CBSE-affiliated schools, has three categories: Class 1 to 5, Class 6 to 8 and Class 9 and 10. According to the circular, the best 36 entries will be given a prize of Rs 2,500 and each student will get a merit and participation certificate.
The students can participate through their schools and can also send their entries online through the official website.
