Committee set up by DU recommends seeking application for vacant reserved seats and finish admission

Updated on: Tuesday, July 30, 2013

The special categories admission-enabling committee on Monday recommended, with many reserved seats across colleges still to be filled and just two days left for admissions to get over, that instead of issuing fresh cutoff lists colleges should ask for applications from August 1 to 3 and finish admissions in the next three days.

Delhi University has set up the committee to look into the admissions for SC/ ST and OBC candidates. DU has so far issued nine cutoffs and the tenth is due on Tuesday. But colleges say that they would still be left with a few seats in several courses.

The DU registrar on July 26 notified "No admission shall be made by the colleges after July 31, 2013, under any circumstances." DU is likely to take a decision on Tuesday on the recommendation of the committee.
