Kanpur colleges full, Agra, Meerut hold little interest

The BEd colleges affiliated to Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University are left with no seats now. "I wanted a college in Kanpur but it's not available. Only a few seats are left in colleges situated in distant locations in the city. They are offering colleges in cities like Meerut and Agra. But, I am not willing to relocate myself," said a girl candidate who had come to the counselling centre at CSMU.

Almost similar were the views of another BEd candidate who was disheartened to learn that there were no more seats left in the city colleges. He said: "Though I passed the entrance exam for the BEd course, my rank was not good. So, I knew I will not get a good college but I did not expect that I will not get any seat in city colleges."
