Admission Committee for Professional Courses fear that over 2,000 Pharmacy seats would remain vacant

Admissions for 5,125 pharmacy seats will begin on Thursday. Choice filling for the first round is expected to begin from Thursday and continue till Saturday.

Officials of the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) said that the results of the first and final round will be declared on August 12. Students will have to pay their fees on August 12 and 13.

Officials fear that since medical and paramedical admissions are yet to begin, the ACPC will have to carry out the reshuffling process for pharmacy admissions. Students who took biology, mathematics and chemistry in Class XII prefer to take admission in pharmacy only after medical and paramedical admissions are completed.

Officials said that they were helpless as they cannot further delay the admission. In one of its orders, the apex court has held that the admission procedures for engineering and pharmacy courses have to be completed before August 15.

About 7,299 students have registered for admission to pharmacy courses, out of which 6,865 have completed all the formalities. The mock round, which took place in July, saw only 2,500 participants, causing officials to fear that over 2,000 seats would remain vacant.
