Jamia Millia Islamia Professor gets Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Fellowship

Professor Mohammad Sami, director, Centre for Theoretical Physics, Jamia Millia Islamia, is visiting Nagoya University, Japan for one year with Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellowship.

The press statement released by the univsersity on Friday says he has also been invited to chair a session on December 29, 2012 at the third international workshop on "Dark Matter, Dark Energy and Matter-Antimatter Asymmetry" hosted by National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS) in Hsinchu and Leung Center for Cosmology and Particle Astrophysics (LeCosPA) in Taipei (Taiwan).

Prof Sami is a world renowned scientist who works on 'dark energy'. A research paper on 'Dynamics of dark energy', co-authored by Prof Mohammad Sami with Edmund J Copel and Shinji Tsujikawa, has found place in the elite document titled 'Scientific Document on the Nobel Prize in Physics 2011 on 'The accelerating universe'.
