The Rajasthan government has decided to provide a scholarship of Rs 500 per month to one lakh students from low income families, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said.

The scholarship would be given to studious students, who had to leave education due to financial constraints and other reasons, Gehlot said in a function at Chittorgarh district.

The efforts by the state government to encourage such students for education have yielded positive results, he said. A slew of measures have been undertaken by state government to encourage meritorious students, Gehlot said.
