Vacant medical seats for SC / ST problem resolved

PATNA:

The seats meant for 42 scheduled caste students 6 scheduled tribe students were left vacant in the list issued by Bihar combined Entrance competitive Examinations Board (BCECEB), the reason is, these students did not get minimum 40% marks in the examination. The students raised their claims to the commission meant for Sc/ST’s.

But there is a provision in the prospectus of the state government that in special circumstances the basic limit of 40% marks can be viewed.

This issue is resolved by state health department. The health department accepted the condition of minimum qualification marks to be obtained at the entrance examination for admission.

The commission’s chairman Vidyanand bikal referred the provision o waive the mandating marks for SC/ST students.

Mr. Anil Kumar, the spokes person and deputy secretary of health Dept, Bihar stated that they have written to the medical council of Indian and Union Health Ministry to allow them to admit SC/ST students with less than 40% marks. The department is expecting a positive response for this problem.
