Entrance Exams

Common Entrance Test (CET) and the All India Medical Entrance Examination (AIMEE) are the two major exams to get into the Bachelor�s Degree Physiotherapy Course. Some other Colleges and Universities like the Jamia Millia Islamia have their own Entrance Exams, as also some Unaided Private Medical and Dental colleges in Maharashtra that come under the AMUPMDC, which is the Association of Managements of these institutions.

Eligibility

At least 50% aggregate marks with Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the 10 +2 level is required by candidates aspiring to join this course. Candidates should be at least 17 years old to apply for admission to the UG course.

Some of the top colleges that offer Physiotherapy at the UG level are the Apollo College Hyderabad, PGI Chandigarh, School of Physiotherapy, SSG Hospital Vadodara, Annamalai University Chidambaram, Padmashree Institute of Physiotherapy Bangalore, Amity School of Physiotherapy Jamia Nagar New Delhi and the Indian Institute of Health Education and Research Patna.

PG Courses Entrance Exam

CET, JIPMER and GGS Indraprastha University Entrance Exam are some of the exams for admission to PG courses in Physiotherapy, for which candidates need to have finished their Bachelor�s degree course in Physiotherapy from a recognised Institute or University, with a minimum of 55% marks in the final exams.

Specialisations at PG level

Masters degree courses can be done in Physiotherapy in Neurology, Sports Physiotherapy, Physiotherapy in Hand Conditions, and Physiotherapy in Orthopaedics. The SNDT Women�s University in Mumbai offers the PG course at the Post-Graduate Institute of Physiotherapy at Dr.BalabhaiNanavati Hospital. MPT in Musculoskeletal Sciences, Neurosciences, Cardio-Respiratory Sciences, Physical Therapy in Community Health Sciences and Physiotherapy Sciences in Medical and Surgical Care are some of the courses offered here. Candidates taking admission to these must have passed the BPT degree exam with internship of 6 months from a College/University recognized by the Indian Association of Physiotherapy.
