Karur Vysya Bank was started in the year 1916 by Sri M.A. Venkatarama Chettiar and Sri Athi Krishna Chettiar with a seed capital of Rs. 1.00 lakh. Karur Vysya Bank offers Education Loans to students who are willing to continue their higher education either in India or abroad.

Eligible Criteria for Karur Vysya Bank Education Loan:
Student for Education Loan:
  • Should have nationality Indian.
  • Secured admission to foreign institutes or university.
  • Admission should be secured to academic, technical or professional courses.
Details of Education Loan:
Coverage of the Expenses:
  • Fee payable to school, hostel and colleges.
  • Laboratory, library and examination fee.
  • Purchase of equipments, books, uniforms and instruments. Building and caution deposit, refundable deposit supported by institution receipts and bills.
  • Passage money and travel expenses for the student's studies abroad.
  • The computer purchase required for completion of course.
  • Other materials required for completion of course such as project work, study tours, thesis etc.
Quantum:
  • The maximum amount is Rs. 10 lakh for studies in the India.
  • The maximum amount is Rs. 20 lakh for studies in abroad.
Margin:
  • No margin for the amount up to Rs. 4 Lakh.
  • Above Rs. 4 lakh -Studies in India - 5% & Studies abroad - 15%
Disbursement:

The loan to be disbursed in stages as per the requirement / demand directly to the Institutions / Vendors of books/equipments/instruments to the extent possible.
