Digitalising Mark Sheets in India

Loss of college certificate and getting it back become a cumbersome procedure for the students throughout the country. Smriti Irani, the Union HRD minister while addressing in Think Edu programme said, it is proposed to digitalize of all certificates of every university in India.

This may solve the issue of loss of paper made certificates. In an interview she strongly declared her views about her pessimistic views of mixing politics and Education. She with all determination said that she will never allow the mixing of politics in the decision making process of Education.

She also said to improve the quality of Education in the central universities in India, it is planned to organize as many as 800 professions, academicians and experts from all over the world to India to teach exclusively in central universities.

She also spoke about “Swaram” portal which is India’s Massive open online course (MOOC) platform which will host on line video lectures by colleges like IIT, NIT and SASTRA university.

She said that the students can appear for an exam leading to course and degree completion certificatory for nominal classes. Swaram provides opportunities to learn multi disciplinary subjects.

She also declared choice Based Credit system for central Universities while speaking.

About “Know your college” portal, she said that the parents could get all information about every institution connected to UGC and AICTE.
