Helping centres by UGC

Seeking suitable job suitable to qualification becomes a high task to to-days younger generation. Getting skill based training is another issue. The cost behind getting those facilities is a big issue now.

At this context, the university grants commission has decided to for 100 centres for knowledge up gradation for skilled Human Action and Learning called KUSHAL in India. The main focus of these centres is providing Job oriented skill based training to students to seek a suitable job.

Prof. H. Devaraj, the vice chairman said that UGC would start KUSHAL centres preferably in colleges and universities and according to him the fund allotted for 5 years is Rs. 1 crore per year.

Though this course, UGC would develop man power with skills as requested by industries in various categories of jobs. The object of KUSHAL centres is to develop comfortable co-ordination between Academic Institutions   and Industries.

The entire course curriculum of this scheme is developed in such a way to develop skilled man power.

This point was discussed, by and large the HD minister Smriti Zubin Irani at the meeting with the Vice Chancellors of central universities. The depth planning of the universities in this issue well take its stage soon.

Recent Nasscom study says that only less than 20% of the students were employable is alarming. According to the sources it is believed that UGC should incorporate the above said scheme into curriculum right from the I year itself.
