Bugs in popular websites found by an Engineering student

Anand Meyyappan, a PG students of Information security in Pondicherry Engineering college indentified several bugs in the websites of popular companies which includes Microsoft, Google and Face book. He fixed the bugs clearly, he will be honoured with cash awards.

What are bugs? Bugs are errors in soft ware that could lead to potential hacking or leaking of information. Because this remarkable work he was offered job with good salary package. But Anand has decided to continue his PG course.

His work infact begin in 2012. He found a “cross site scripting” bug in the home page of skype.Com of Microsoft.

What this bug can do? This is dangerous. The buy can hijack the user’s sessions and redirect to a web site of the hijackers’ choice.

He has fixed several bugs in more than 20 web sites. He found a bug called “cross site request forgery” (CSRF) at gift cards.com. He was awarded $ 3600 by this web site company.

What is this error? The hackers can take over gift card accounts of the users and their pass words. The hackers can change the e-mail and their account balance. Anand is the son of a government driver in Andaman Nicobar Islands. His parents are from Theravampur village near Tirupathur near Vellore.

He also found the bugs in Google and face book. This prevented the risk of getting information from the web sites. Face book awarded $500 and Google $100. He also found bugs in ATPT and Nokia. He now does research in website of Yahoo.
