TET Training Centres free of cost by Tamil Nadu & Training centres for Engineering graduates

Several welfare measures were announced by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J.Jayalalitha on Thursday, exclusively for the students belonging to SC and ST.

She proposed 2 colleges of Technology at Nandanam Adi Dravidar Higher Secondary school in Cuddalore dist not and Chevvapet Adi Dravidar Higher secondary school in Tiruvallur District. The cost put together is 24, 60 crore. These colleges, as stated by C.M. will be helping the students who have passed SSLC and H.Sc. She also said that an industrial Training Institute will be started at a cost of 10 crores at Chevvapet. In order to provide simultaneous fresh and hot meals to the inmates of SC/ST hostels, 200 in numbers, she announced that the Government will be given to the hostels where more than 150 students will be staying. Chief Minister, also announced that 1577 idly cookers. Would be given for the benefit of SC/ST hostel students and those who are staying in residential schools and the cost of projects would be Rs. 1.27 crore. More over pillows with cover will also be provided to all the inmates of these colleges at a cost of Rs.4.93 crore. She also announced about the supply of woolen short and a rain coat for SC/ST students. Staying in the hostels and residential schools in hill stations. And the cost of the project is Rs.3.08 crore.

Chief Minister also declared about the opening of 10 college hostels the districts of Perambalur, Pudukottail, Thanjavur, Vellore, Tirunelveli and Chennai and she estimated this cost as Rs.2.60 crore. She also announced the supply of bulbs, fans and water pipes for 1647 SC/ST hostels in state at a cost of 2.47 crore.

Further to this, she announced that training would be given to 906 BE graduates belonging to ST community who have registered themselves with Employment Exchange and she said the cost of the project is Rs. 66 lacs. She also announced about the providing of training for 500 Diploma holders in Teacher Training and from SC/ST classification and 500 SC candidates, who have cleared Bed.
