Need of Technology Improvement in Engineering Institutions

Government of Tamil Nadu has proposed to set up Robotics laboratories and it is announced that the 10 government and aided polytechnic colleges and 6 Government Engineering colleges can get hands on training in robots. While explaining this program, the Education Minister Paliniappan said that the Government had allotted Rs.3627.93 crore in the current budget. The Higher Education Department was allotted Rs. 30 lac to install Video conferencing – cum broadcasting centres in 30 institutions, including 10 engineering colleges and 20 polytechnics. It is also announced software Incubation centres (SIC’s) were planned in Anna University, Bharathidasan Institute of Technology, Trichi and Mononmaniam Sundaranar University in Tirunelveli. It is also planned to set SIC in Govt college of Technology in Coimbatore in collaborates with software Technology parks of India. Govt also has proposed to give bilingual video CD’s to students of 140 polytechnics. Besides, a series of animated video’s on techniques of affording job interviews created by British council.
