Demand for Common Admission schedule

Updated on: Wednesday, May 07, 2014

The demand for common time table is insisted in the admission process by the Government college teachers Mandram. This is to enforce transparency in the procedure of admissions. Mr. R.Muthy the general secretary of the Mandram said that the last date for the submission of applications to all undergraduate courses in both Government and Government Aided colleges for UG courses should be uniform and the last date for applying should be fixed on the basis of the date of declaration of XII results. He added that it should be on the basis of the date of issue of Mark sheets. This procedure may help the meritorious candidates hailing from economically downtrodden families to get admissions in Government and Government aided colleges.

The aided and self financing colleges normally admit the students immediately after the declaration of the XII results. This disturbs the students of economically weaker sections. The Government should have a clear eye on the reservation policy issues also.

In the same way, the results of UG courses should be declared in the stipulated period to ensure fair admission process in post Graduate courses.

Mr. Murthy, further added that it must be possible by an UG student to get admission in any colleges, university with in the state. He insisted, like Engineering Admissions Single window system must be followed for other under Graduate courses also
