AU academic council decides to issue computerised DPHil degrees

The Allahabad University will now issue computerised DPHil degrees and the topic of research of the scholars would also be mentioned on them. This was among some important decisions taken by the university's Academic Council on Tuesday.

The council also decided that the university should hold its convocation in the 2013-14 session. The Chancellor's Medal would now be changed to Visitor's Medal after the Indian President.

AC also approved that DPhil course can be started at GB Pant Institute and in the department of physical Education.

The council also gave nod to the diploma courses in Gandhian studies and diploma in tourism to be run by department of geography. The proposed amendments in the DPhil were dropped as AC said it can be proposed only by a committee constituted by it.
