North East State Engineering Entrance Exam – (NEE) 2012

Introduction

The NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE) is conducted for admissions to the various engineering degree and diploma courses. It is is conducted by the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology. This test is for Base Module, Diploma Module & Degree Module in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Agricultural Engineering. There are three different examinations known as NEE 1, NEE 2 and NEE 3 are held to take admission at three different levels.

North East State Engineering Entrance Exam – (NEE) 2012 Eligibility Criteria:

NEE 1

Candidate should have passed Class-X examination of 10+2 system or an equivalent examination with Science and Mathematics. Candidates whose results are awaited can also appear in the NERIST Entrance Examination. Age: 19 years (24 years for SC/ST/PH and 22 years for OBC and female candidates) as on 1st August 2012.

NEE 2

Candidate should have passed 10+2 vocational in Forestry/ Horticulture ,Electronics/ Farm Machinery & Equipment / Electrical / Refrigeration & Air Conditioning / Automobile Technology/ Structure & Fabrication Technology/ Computer Science. Age: 23 years (28 years for SC/ST/PH and 26 years for OBC and female candidates) as on 1st August 2012.

NEE 3

candidate must have passed the 3-year Diploma course from any Government recognized polytechnic in the respective or allied discipline/branch with 60% marks considering the aggregate marks of all the three years.

Age: 40 years (45 years for SC/ST/PH and 43 years for OBC and female candidates)as on 1st August 2012.

Pattern for North East State Engineering Entrance Exam – (NEE) 2012:

NEE consisting of one objective type paper of 150 marks with multiple choice questions. The duration of exam is 3 hours.

  • There are three sections and subjects are:
  • Physics (35 marks)
  • Chemistry (35 marks)
  • Mathematics (80 marks)
  • There is negetive marking for each wrong answers.

How to Apply for North East State Engineering Entrance Exam – (NEE) 2012:

Information brochure can be obtained from main branches of Axis Bank at Itanagar or Main post offices located at district head quarters of all eight north eastern states at Rs.750 for Gen/OBC and Rs.400 for SC/ST/PH. Application form can also be downloaded from NERIST website www.nerist.ac.in. by adding Rs.100 extra along with exam fee.
