Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences - Pre Medical

Name of the Test : Pre-Medical Entrance Test
The Institution was established in 1969 and managed by Kasturba Health Society and offers MBBS course.

Eligibility

Age : 17 years of age competed

Qualification : The candidate must have passed XII std under 10 + 2 system of Maharashtra state Hr. Sec. Education Board, or an equivalent examination of any recognized Indian Board / University with physics, chemistry, Biology and English individually in single attempt.

Mark: General Candidate : Minimum 50% marks (phy + che + Bio) should have passed English in one attempt.

Reservation : Candidate belonging to SC & ST Vimkta Juti (UJ), Numadai Tribes and OBC including BC should have obtained but less that 40% of total aggregate name in PCB taken together in qualifying examination. He / She should can passed PCB & English in one attempt. No rounding off the marks obtained by candidate in English and in subjects.

Seat Distribution
  • Those candidates who have passed both SSC ( equivalent) and XII (equivalent exam from the school / college situated in Maharashtra only are treated as Maharashtra candidates.
  • All other eligible candidate who passed their SSC (equivalent and / or XII std, or its equivalent examination from out side Maharashtra are treated as Non - Maharahtra candidates.
Reservation
  • 50% seats are reserved for Maharashtra candidates and 50 % for candidates from other states.
  • 2 seats are reserved for nominees of Govt, of Maharashtra, as per rules.
  • 4 seats are reserved for Govt of India nominees. The selection of candidates is made by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Govt, of India, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi, as per rules.
Entrance Examination

Pre Medical Entrance Test (Three papers)

Centre : Delhi, Nagpur, Hydrabad, Mumbai

Paper - l - 180 Multiple choice questions Common question paper in physics, chemistry & Biology consisting 180 multiple choice (60 questions in each subject) Each correct answer is given one mark. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. Duration of tne paper is of 180 minutes.

Paper-II - 3 hours ( English only) The paper will be on Gandhian thought and carry 60 marks. The paper can be answered either in English and Hindi.
