Haryana Common Engineering Entrance Test (CEET) - 2012

Introduction

The CEET entrance exam is carried out by the National Institute of Technology for the admittance of students into the four year B.E/B.Tech programs and five year B Arch courses in the private and government engineering colleges in the state of Haryana. This exam is conducted to determine the aptitude of a student in the desired field of study.

  • The candidate must have passed the Higher Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination, from any recognized Board.
  • The candidates should have passed the qualifying examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and a pass in English.
  • The candidates, who have appeared in the final year of the qualifying examination, are also eligible for CEET.
  • Three-year Diploma holders from Haryana Board of Technical Education are eligible for the admission to second year of course under Lateral Entry Scheme.
  • The candidate should be above 17 years of age at the time of applying for the course.
Structure for Haryana Common Engineering Entrance Test (CEET) - 2012

The examination will be of a period of 3 hours. The mode of instruction will be English. The questions will be of the objective type. The question paper will include topics on Mathematics and Physics. A variety of questions in Chemistry will also form part of the paper. Each topic will hold 60 marks.

How to apply for Haryana Common Engineering Entrance Test (CEET) - 2012

The candidates can apply for the entrance exam in two methods. Candidates can download the application form from the authorized website of the CEED or they can purchase the application form directly from any of the institutes that offer B.Tech/B.E programs. They can also get the form the camp office of the Haryana State Counseling Society or from any designated branches of the Punjab National Bank. Candidates who wish to receive the form by post must send a request letter to the office of the CEET alongside a DD of the requisite amount. The filled up application should be sent to the CEET at the earliest. All the important documents should be attached to the application.

  • All the questions in the test are of objective type, in which, the candidates have to choose the right answer out of four options.
  • The candidates are expected to answer all the questions within three hours, which is the duration of the exam.
  • The medium of instructions and questions is only English.
  • The question paper consists of these subjects, phyysics, chemistry, Mathematics.
  • All the parts of Haryana CEET Exam carry 60 marks each.
