The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination

Introduction

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECE B) has been constituted by the Government of Bihar in accordance with the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act 1995. The Board presently conducts Combined Competitive Entrance Examinations (BCECE ) for admission in Graduate level Vocational Courses in Engineering, Medical and Agricultural streams available in the Universities , Colleges and Institutions of the State of Bihar as well as those situated outside Bihar against State Quota seats.

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

• A pass in Intermediate Examination with Chemistry, Physics and Maths as subjects or appearance at 2nd year Intermediate Examination (10 + 2 pattern) conducted by the Bihar State Government, Education Department, with appropriate optional subjects or its equivalent.

Minimum Age limit:

• For Engineering/ Pharmacy Stream, there is no minimum age limit For Medical Stream, the minimum age must be 17 years and For Agriculture Stream, the minimum age must be 17 years.

Domicile Restrictions:

• Candidates should be residents of Bihar. Candidates whose parents are employees to Tata Iron Steel Company are eligible to seek admission at Bihar Institute of Technology (BIT), Sindri only.

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Pattern:

The BCECE exam total duration is three hours. It will cover questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths/ Biology of 1 hour duration each. The questions in the exam are based on the subjects of HSC (10+2) examination. Those candidates going for engineering programs have to study for all the theories and basics of subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, along with Biology. Those who have taken Medical and Agricultural programs, have to study Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with Mathematics of the qualifying examination. The Entrance test is in English Medium only.

Cost of the application form is RS.550 for GEN/BC/EBC category and Rs. 275 for SC / ST. If the application form is purchased from the Bank extra Rs 5 is applicable. The candidates have to forward their completed application forms by post/ speed post along with a bank DD of Rs 600 for GEN/BC/EBC and Rs 352 for SC / ST to the office of the controller of examination.
