Apply online for UK Visa from March 5

The UK Border Agency has announced that applicants and their dependants who are applying for a UK visa will have to apply online from March 5. Manually completed applications will not be accepted from March 5. The URL for applying for visas online is - https://apply.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/iapply.portal. Applicants will then need to print off a hard copy of their application form and make an online appointment to attend their nearest visa application centre (VAC). They should bring the application form printout to their appointment at the VAC, along with the necessary supporting documentation. Applicants will need to give their biometrics (finger scans and digital photograph) at the VAC in line with current practice. Applicants can refer to http://www.vfs-uk-in.com/additionalservice.html for further guidance

CBSE exam commences from March 1

The Xth and XIIth students studying in the CBSE(Central board of secondary education) will be starting their final exams from March 1st. CBSE regional officer K K Choudhury said, "The preparation for the examinations has already started. The question papers have already been dispatched from Delhi to the different centres. There are around 285 centres all over the northeast, and around 753 schools in the northeast from which approximately 85,000 candidates of classes X and XII would be appearing for the exams."The students can opt for the exams conducted either by the school or by the board.Most of the students from the northeast prefer the board conducted exam.THe board has also introduced International Curriculum in Indian schools.Mr Choudhury also added,that "The CBSE international curriculum would be more project-based and the schools would now offer both the courses for students to choose from. The CBSE international curriculum would vary across regions as we have included region-specific issues and important historical events in the social science subject." In CBSE tourism and hospitality have been introduced as new subjects.

NEW DELHI: The Union Service Public Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2012 on May 20, 2012. The examination will be held at various centres across the country. Candidates can apply online using the UPSC website. The last date for filling up the application form is March 5, 2012 till 11.59 pm post which the link will be disabled. Top Business Schools--- The three IIMs

The three IIMs (The Indian Institute of Management--Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Calcutta have again topped the country's B-schools. They are also in the tip ten Asia-Pacific region. IIM Ahmedabad is ranked second, IIM-Bangalore fifth and IIM Calcutta is reanked eigth. Indian School of Business has been ranked seventh, SP Jain Management and Research is at sixteenth place and Indian Institute of Foreign Trade at 21st place.INSEAD - Singapore is the number one in the region for the third consecutive year. Melbourne Business School --Australia , NUS Business school -- Singapore and University of South Wales are also among the top ten. The QS Global report has given this statistics based on the information given by global recruiters. According to the QS global report, " Business schools in the Asia-Pacific region are looking at the standard of top American and European institutions as indicators of how they compare and where they could improve."

Model question paper for 10th and 12th students The Education board of Tamilnadu ha posted the model question paper for the 10th and 12th standard , who will be writing the public exam in March. This will be the first year the students will be writing the exam based on the newly introduced Samacheer Syllabus. After the request from the parents , teachers and students the education board has decided to post the model question paper in its website . The students will breatly benefit by this approach. They will have an idea about the pattern of the question paper and can prepare according to that pattern.
